Hi, I went on Cymbalta about 5 months ago and it has been the best thing for me. I came down with postpartum depression about 10 months after my triplets were born, and I did not recognize the symptoms until I spent a week completely incapable of doing anything but crying. I have Fibromyalgia with all this, and so the Cymbalta is a great choice for me. I'm on a fairly hi dose because I'm also dealing with seasonal afflicted disorder and Cymbalta helps to increase the available serotonin in the synapses.
The only side effect I have had is loss of menstruation. I had no period for the first 4 months I was on it. I have had negative pregnancy tests each month, the last being a blood test. So I talked to my doctor, and we tried changing my birth control. It worked, I have finally had a real period!!! It only took 2 months of the new pill, and I'm back on track.
So, if you are taking this and are have menstrual issues, try changing birth control, some of your symptoms may be hormonally related. Cymbalta does interact with hormone balance, so it's something to consider.
