hello everyone,

i recently split up with my boyfriend after his behaviour the last time he came to stay with me. I didnt know at the time that he had stopped taking effexor only days before coming to see me.

I'ts kind of hard to explain how he was, he was cold and indifferent, like a blank wall, no empathy, was quite rude and self obsessed. He would not communicate with me except to point out that my house was messy and he hated it here and was going to stay in a hotel. I got extremely upset at this and he was totally indifferent to my feelings.
He says he doesnt know why he acted like that, just that he felt 'numb'.

I wonder now if this could be down to him suddenly stopping this drug? Or maybe i'm clutching at straws, I dont know.

Hi

I was on Effexor for years and had to be hospitalized to come off it...there is heaps on the boards about it, generally brain zaps nausea etc.

If some one told me my house was too messy I 'd say lets clear the bed then clean up and have take out.

If he chose to go to a hotel....your better off he's there if he is in a foul mood.

well, I've also come to realise that he may just have not been able to cope. It must be hard for someone with mental health problems to deal with someone with physical health problems, and vica versa to be sure!
