i can "hear" air or a fizzing coming out of my ears.
This is probably the same as ringing in the ears.
When i was in my brain warp i could hear fizzing(air)
out my right ear. At that time the sound was coming
about a foot away from my right ear not out of it directly.
It was as if it were coming out of my aura. It was as if
my brain was releasing the manic energy or pressure out
my right ear. A couple of times I would hear it all over
the room.

i also went for weeks without sleeping until i started taking
seroquel. During that time i did not feel tired AT ALL.
I MUST HAVE BROKEN A WORLDS RECORD FOR MOST DAYS AND NIGHTS
AWAKE. Instead of feeling tired i would feel a pressure in
my stomach as if something were feeding me energy. This was
mania but that pressure in my stomach was real. It was like
some kind of Kundelini energy going on. This pressure would
then exit about a foot away from my right ear thus releasing
the mania. It was like a continuous feedback system. Except
that it wasn't Kundelini and i feel anything but enlightened.
Anyone have anything like this happen???

It's called pulsatile tinnitus. It can be heard by someone with
a stethoscope. I have to find out if this thing is connected
to scz. It might be fluid pushing against the veins causing the
woshing sound in the ear. It might be AVM. It could be a lot of
things. In any case it could be serious.

This particular tinnitus is an ear infection. I had it throughout
my attack. Could this infection have had anything to do with the
attack itself? Treating it with Ciprodex. Cause/effect???

I have heard that tinnitus is sz related. My whole life my ears ring sometimes for no reason but it has never been an issue or gotten worse that i know of.. it`s obnoxious when it happens. But I don`t think that`s what I`ve got because a it`s happened all my life and b it only lasts for a minute or two. and c never gotten worse i don`t think.

Anyhow, that can also be caused by wax or infections. If you have an ear infection, don`t mess with it. get it treated. :)

Wax can make everythin gsound very strange. I have sensitive ears and I also have wax buildup in the winter. Things sound unbalanced and sort of Dopplerish.. and wax can cause ringing too. When it gets cleaned out, it`s miserable (if they have to flush) but it works. You`ll hear like never before once you get wax cleaned out lol

Hi e-pea,

Always good to hear from you.
I have the whooshing noise right now as I speak. I can tell, at this point, that it is from the Pepsi and coffee that I had because it always seems to happen in reaction to caffeine these days. It doesn't happen otherwise. This thing has been bugging the hell out of me and I have had no point of reference except from you and a few others on another forum. It is related to sz but it can also be heard by a doctor with a stethoscope if it is loud enough as in pulsatile tinnitus. During my attack last year I could hear the sound not only out my ears but also throughout the room. Separate sounds from different directions. Like virtual brain farts. What could cause this effect? Scz because there were no sounds coming from different
directions except in my head.

You and others have said that this is no big thing and you're
probably right. It provokes my curiosity because it is the only symptom of scz that I have right now. Pulsatile tinnitus can be
caused by a lot of things. It can be caused by arthritis because
there is an actual joint below the ear. At present I have a mild
form of pain in my upper body as well as stiffness in my neck.
I could have mild arthritis. It cannot just be coincidence.

Thinking out loud...
I wonder how many people with sz have this thing? I AM completely
wrong if I think that scz is an infection in the brain and way
off base if I say that sz is arthritis of the brain. Candida of
the brain? The latter is certainly possible but probably has no
relationship to scz. Right? I am going to check it out. I am going
to do what I can so that this thing doesn't get me again.

er, um...shame on you...won't be fooled again!!!

Clearmind! OH! I knw what you mean. Is it like a pulsing sort of puffing feeling and sound. Where you can hear it but you can also feel it??? I get that like crazy if i have a wax buildup. Like i do now..i just noticed it and i thought 'man is that what clearmind meant?' and i read the posts again.

I assumed it was wax. I don't get ringing with that feeling at all.

I don't mean necessarily it's no big thing because I know nothing about it... i always dismissed it but it's. brain farts!! lol that's just what it's like. I'm not sure if it's the same thing that you're talking about...

E-pea, what you describe is probably it. That being said I've had my ears cleaned twice by a specialist since feb. It might be wax build up with you but it can't be with me. He might be proscribing antibiotics
for an arthritic condition. I hope not. I would say google it but
they get pretty alarmist about the loud version of tinnitus. I've
still got it as a pulse of air because I had coffee again today.

The feeling in your stomach was probably adrenaline
which was what was keeping you awake. I would hate
to see your adrenal glands after staying awake for
several weeks. The sound in your ears was probably
rushing blood. (I would be curious to know what causes
that sound when you push your jaw forward?) Could it be
that something was pushing in on your brain causing
pressure on blood vessels and causing that wooshing sound?

Do you know how many people are misdiagnosed with a mental illness.
